Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help and advise.
I acted out of worry as a parent towards my children, i rehomed my dog, not permanently but just untill my childrens test results came back, i clearly did not make this clear enough to the woman who took my dog.

when she took my dog she did not get his microchip changed…i mean why would she? She knew that it wernt permanent hence why it was never changed.

Since having the test results back which were negative - i had got in touch with the woman who took my dog, she is now refusing to give me my dog back and being verbally aggressive towards me.

i did take this situation to the police, and they have classed it as she has stolen my dog.

i just want to make sure im in the right and im doing the right thing in getting my dog back.

if you got this far thankyou!

Was anything put in writing? Did you pay her for boarding your dog?

If the police have classed it as theft why have they not made sure your dog was returned......
Can I ask how long this person has looked after your dog :(

This doesn't sound right to me - do you have a source to back this up please? According to Is dog theft on the rise? | petGuard, 'Stealing a dog from its owner is a crime under UK law.' I agree with the suggestion to contact Trevor Cooper - good luck.

Just curious why you give your dog to someone until your children’s test results came back,,What tests were you waiting for, anything to do with the dog?

Yeah it was a daft mistake :( and all things that the dog carries eg dander etc. i should have waited - but it was the big rush to hospital that got me worried and my parents kept telling me that i needed to get rid of him ecen tho i didnt believe it was because of the dog and i was right.
