[SIZE=14pt]Proposed Whippet Club of Queensland[/SIZE]

(condense notice of the meeting from a letter I received, I spoke with Ulla about posting on this site)

Meeting being held on the 10th June in Meeting Room 1 in the main building at the CCC Dog Showgrounds.

In the event that the club is formed on 10 June 2007 it would allow it to operate as a social club for the 2007/2008 financial year with application being made in the second half of next year to the CCCQ for affiliation for the calendar year commencing 1 January 2009

At the meeting on 10 June 2007 the following matters will be dealt with

* Formation of the social club

* Determine the name of the club (Whippet Club of Queensland has a nice ring to it)

* Adoption of the Constitution For Affiliates

* Election of a Committee. A provisional committee is in place but persons interested may wish to nominate for specific roles

* List foundation members

* Decide domestic issues such as bank accouns and membership fees

* Set a date and venue for the next meeting

Bumping this up - so the club can get up and running (fingers crossed)

Please if you can't attend then show your support by letter or email to Ulla or Trevor.

Also this club is being formed for pet owners as well as those showing or competing in obedience, so if you've sold pups into Queensland let your puppy owners know about the proposed club. More the merrier.

The New Whippet Club of Qld was formed yesterday at an initial meeting attended by about 20 interested people, including a number from central Queensland. There had also been lots of interest expressed from across Qld and from interstate.

The club will now formally apply to the CCCQ for social club status from 1 July 07-30June 08. It's our aim to have the club fully affiliated from 1 July 2008 if possible, with a view to holding our first champ show in 2009.

An initial committee was formed at the meeting.

President Ulla Greenwood

Vice Pres Gary Austen

Secretary Marie McKenzie

Treasurer Amanda Cooney

We also created 2 non executive positions yesterday- Christina Fornasier as publicity officer( thanks for your offer to do this Christina), and Linda Evans as fundraising coordinator.

Membership is $15 a single, $25 for joint, and $5 for junior memberships.

Over the coming months a number of meetings will be held to begin the task of putting together events and activities that will promote the wellbeing and enjoyment of our breed here in Qld.

The next meeting will be held at Durack during the lunch break of the Qld Hound Club show in July.

Received the good news regarding the club forming at the show yesterday from Pat who also informed me of my position that I didn't know was being put forward for. Thanks guys.

As to taking interstate membership - Yes, of course you can join - everyone welcomed to be a part of this new club. Have been sent the membership application form and can easily send on to anyone interested.
