We have 6 Whippets (we did have 7 until a few hours ago) we also have 2 small kids. We have a dog room so the younger dogs didn’t upset my old boy, they are not in it all the time. We do have a kennel which is very handy for keeping the kids in lol as the dogs have never been in it. I think my maximum number is 10 Whippet. I also kept ferrets10 for a number of years.

Sheesh am I the only one with kennels??!!

Mine have a purpose built, raised and insulated shed with thermostatically controlled heating and lighting. It's also alarmed with tremor switches and sensor lighting in their runs. (what can I say but the ex wanted them outside and I wanted the best set up possible) I also wanted a shower and tray installed so I could wash their feet but he considered that a bit OTT! :- "

I have 5 whippets (2 bitches and 3 dogs) and with the shed being partitioned it is useful for separating dogs for when the girls are in season or during feeding times. Admitedly they only used to spend their feeding and sleeping time in there and of recent they spend no time in there at all!

Ours are all in too,we have 7 and have to say I honestly think with whippets it does'nt matter whether you have one or twenty we hardly notice them in the house they are soooo good o:) You do get a few hairs but I must say I prefer that to having them live out.............just my preferance I'm a sucker for a sad face and as we all know whippets are the masters of sad faces!!!!

They do have their mad half hour or two but then they go out to the back paddock for a hare around. And they are all walked at once, usually put into the car and driven either to the beach or forest. They are shown and worked. :))

I THINK YOU ARE ALL MAD!!!!!! (w00t) (actually you are all very lucky and im really jealous!!! :x )
my sentiments too

and I do wonder what you do about keeping dogs and bitches in the same household

for a few years I kept a dog and his unspayed daughter in a one bedroom flat, but I sent the dog to homeboard with a friend whenever his daughter was in season

We have four entire dogs and two entire bitches in our house along with a male neuter and I can honestly say it isnt too much of a problem at all.The bitches wear "season pants" when "in" and the boys go into one crate at night and the girls in another the same when we go out.During the day when we are in the house with them we just keep an eye on them and our boys are very good, you only have to tell them to leave the girls alone and go and lie down and they will. :)) So as of yet we have had no problems.

We have 8 dog's in this household (6 Whippets, a Border Collie and a Collie x) .....The Collie and x live outside and the Whippets inside ........ALL the Whippets sleep in our bed/bedroom (w00t) .........ALL 8 of my lot are free run together, and don't need feeding seperatly .......We only have 1 cage in the house which is our magnetic box that is used daily on my racer's and old girl, then it's used only when our girls are in season (as we have 6 girls and 2 boys).......

We have 7 dogs :)) 5 whippets,4 boys & 1 lady, the other two are jack russell boy and a Lakeland x patterdale girl  they all live in the house together :))

We used to have 4 whippets in bed with us (w00t) but we only have the two oldies in with us

now, and our daughter has the girly whip in her bed :huggles:

arggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found the biggest change was going from 2 dogs to 3 - all of a sudden I had a pack!

although to be fair, my 3rd was an italian greyhound (and my 4th was too :- " ) and believe me, it was not like getting a small whippet

my little two iggies do not add up to one big dog, feels more like multiplication, not addition!!
