I personally think hes a handsome fella

you coudl always try an buy some tan ping pong balls from somewhere :b

The answer is not really, the standard calls for two dingly danglies. I think there should be a class for castrated dogs on their own. He is a lovely sort though I cansee why you would want to show him.

Hi, I think your boy looks beautiful. I am new to showing but I thought dogs had to be entire in the show ring. The Whippet Breed Council, Illustrated standard of the breed says on P5 "Note, Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum". As dogs are judged against this standard, I would interpret this that they have to be entire.

I am sure the established whippeteers will confirm/or not my interpretation. If the show thing doesn't happen, have you thought of racing. I am lucky I have the Sussex Longdog Association close by and any whippet can race there - and they just love it  best of luck

Why not go to some Companion shows. Give you great practice for showing if you get another Whippet some day <G>. Often the competition is really strong and you usually win nice goodies. He looks a really nice boy.

What a shame you had him castrated :(

Meant to ask?? What is his breeding?

he is a handsome boy   why not give it a try at opens, then you will find out if it still worth showing at this level.there is always the companion shows were you will have lots of fun with him.  good luck with him :luck: :luck:

:luck: Just wishing you lots of luck with Harvey at his first show. :luck:

To be perfectly honest,I wouldn't waste any money on dog shows, open or otherwise apart from companion shows,as mentioned by the other's.

In a breed class,I would expect the majority of judges to penalise him,for not having testicles. He could still be placed by some judges, but,it could possibly be because of small classes, and you always being last.

All standards, regardless of breed state for male dogs to have two, normal testicles.

Take him to some companion shows, have fun,win loads and enjoy yourselves :) .
