Hi,

I am just filling in Rosies next show application and in the top right corner under Entry Fees it says

'Membership £2.00 Single £3.00 Joint'

What does this mean?

Do we have to join as members or is this something totally different?

We can't find reference to it anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

Its the fee if you want to become a member of the particular society/club running the show.

Single for dogs owned in one name

Joint for dogs owned in partnership

Unless it is something like a Limited Show you do not have to be a member, but if you are you usually get cheaper entry fees. You do not say exactly what type of show, although from the cost I presume it is an Open Show? Also if a member they should :- " send you a schedule for the next show but this usually happens if you exhibit anyway ;) If a member you also get voting rights at the AGM of the Society in question.

Hope this helps and not confuses you further :teehee:

Thanks for the speedy reply :huggles:

I think I may have accidently joined a few societies

So I take it that we don't have to become a member to enter our dog?

No, you only have to be a member if its a "Limited" show.

As said, you do get cheaper fee's if you're a member, but if you only have one dog, it will cost you more to pay the membership fee.

and of course if they have `members only` stake classes for £ prize money .

When societys were allowed more than 1 show a year it was worth joining to save on entry fees , but not so much now , unless yove several dogs to enter

hi joint membership is if you and your partner both show if its only you then just join as a single member hope this helps :D
