Feeling very sad as my little feral cat Molly died tonight
She has been losing weight over the last couple of weeks, although still eating well. I was unable to take her to the vet as she couldn't be handled . She was never nasty, she loved to be stroked, just too quick if you tried to pick her up o
This morning, when she turned away from her food, I knew the time was near. I have always said that she would only ever make one trip to the vets, since she was so distressed by handling, so I called the vets, who agreed to supply me with some ACP, to sedate her so the deed could be done on Monday morning.
My biggest fear was that her last moments would be filled with fear, so I wanted her to be out of it when the time came.
This evening, I was stroking her while she sat in her favourite place, on the shed roof. She didn't run away, so I carefully picked her up, and she let me cuddle her for the first time in all the 12 or 13 years I have had her! She purred and rubbed her face on my hand! :huggles:
I made up a cage with a bed in it, as I was worried she would go off and lie under a bush to die. Things progressed very quickly, she went into a coma and died about 10 o'clock
So, RIP Molly, sweet girlie, even though you were a 'wild one', you had a big character, loved the dogs and other cats, and we will all miss you so much o

Edited to say, didn't mean to post this message on the showing forum- can someone move it for me please?!
