 Is myxi something that occurs naturally or was it a man made thing to kill off rabbits...? and can your dogs be harmed by it? :( Sorry to sound a bit thick - I have heard of it but never seen it and not sure what it is....

Man made, can it harm your dogs, never harmed any of my dogs over the years, but never the less, i check her thoroughly after every outing, always have al;ways will

 Thanks for that Keith, but what do you check your dogs for exactly, I mean how would it affect them and what does it do to the rabbit?? Is it the disease that makes them bleed to death or is that something else I once read about in Countrymans weekly. (I get muddled easily) :- "

Dont go worrying yourself your dog should it come into contact with an infected rabbit wont come to any harm, but where i am its absolutely riddled with rabbits, and this is what i do with my dog, work her, so after every outing i check for fleas ticks just generally keep her clean, what the disease does to the rabbit, perhaps you could go google it and get information there, they end up blind with scabs, bulging eyes suffer terrible until death, awful cruel disease

My youngest lad saw a rabbit at school running around in a strange way....he explained what its eyes looked like.....I said it must of had mixi :(

Try explaining to a youngster that its man made to kill rabbits :- "

He wasn't a happy chappy :(

At least if a rabbit/hare is hunted it usually dies a quick death.....not torturous like mixi :- "
