Last year some amazing people (who dont need naming) gave so much time and effort to organize a pedigree open and fund raising weekend.

As a result of their efforts a large donation was made to cancer reserch.

I was hoping people would wish to continue raising money this year by sponsoring my daughter in the race for life.

Please dont think "oh no" not someone else after money, not until you have read what my daughter says on the address below-please read it if nothing else

The race for life is a great idea and a very worthy cause :thumbsup:

A year or so ago myself and a lot of other students of Bolton Thai boxing club did the race for life and a sponsered "kick-a-thon"(which i did 1000 kicks) and we raised a lot of money through it.

Hi Garry, looks like both our daughters will be running again this year. It is a great way of raising money for this nasty disease, I know our daughter Dawn and her friends who also run with her have a good time knowing they are doing good as well. We hope Gem does well and we shall give you our sponsor money as soon as we see you. Luv Maureen

I just found this I was amazed how much had been raised locally and Im so proud Gemma has had a part in it:

The Race for Life will be held in Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Sunday 24th June 2007. This is the 10th year that the race has been held in Chelmsford's Hylands Park.

Chelmsford's race in 2006 saw thousands of women running, jogging and walking 5km around Hylands Park – raising more than £479,000 in the process. Extra work was required this year to facilitate an increase in the capacity from 4,000 to 6,000 runners.
