:teehee: Let's have some more Geoff, i love the old photos. Diane

Vicky you beat me to it!!

The third photo brought me back in time (35 years) because the big fellow at the back was George Cumston and the sheild must have been won by his fantastic bitch Bang On...I was lucky enough to have a pup from her called Big Bang ( Rch Tinlegs -Bang On) who was tragically poisoned at 20 months old by one of our neighbours.

I was 16 years old and living in the east end of london when i hitch hiked up to New Mills to buy a pup out of Rch Tinlegs and Rch Magpie from Rob Farragher. The pup were all sold by the time i arrived(no phones in them days only the whippet news)but he put me up for the nite and next day took me to stockport to buy Meg (Big Bang from George Cumston who became a good friend to me for many years.

I got the night coach home arrived at kings cross at 3am and tried to take Meg on the underground but she was"nt having any of it so i walked all the way home a good few hours, but she was worth it, a real cracker.

John Stayte then had a pup out of Tinlegs and Cum fast(Bang On"s litter sister)called Cum Again who won several opens in the south. We also raced a litter brother of Rch Blue Max(Blue Smoke - Bang On) whose name escapes me but he gave 3xRch Silver Dawn some close tussles at Braeswood.

Those were the days....`````````````````````````````````````````````

George Cumston's brother was racing Greyhounds on Belle Vue a few years ago, not sure whether he still does.

What a fantastic blood lines

Roberta D (Robbo - Brindle Band it) mated with Rch Nip himself out of Rch Snowflake to produce Rch Trebora and then mated to Rch Rhinegold to produce my own sup Rch Soft Touch,2 or 3 champions in every litter.!!

Would love to meet you grandad and will be at highgate feb 24th racing Our Touch!

PS.I think racing jackets were introduced at the first BWRA championships in 1968?

Johnny Stayte agrees with me.

I remember watching the Dolans Mickey D run he was one of my all time favourites loved to see him on the bends :) he used to rail so close it almost looked as though his curly tail was hooked over the rail :)

I'm pleased this topic as been of interest to you, and brought back some happy memories  I will do my best to try and find some more and post at a later date.
