For over 12 months now Rafferty has had a small lump on his back about the size of a pea. The vet has seen it a couple of times & we've decided to just keep an eye on it & if it got bigger or started to cause him a problem, then it would have to be removed.

It obviously hasn't hurt as I can squeeze it without him feeling it.

Well, I'm so glad we didn't put him through the ordeal of an operation as tonight when I checked it out ...........it burst :x :x

Loads of greyish pus came out & now you can't even tell where it was :)

Was this the worlds longest lasting zit

I'll put some aloe vera gel on it for a day or so to prevent any infection getting in but I think that it's gone for good :)

sounds like a cyst to me that JT im sure someone else has had the same problem with one of there dogs here on k9, could you move the lump about if so then yes my guess would be a cyst, anyway good luck with him

ive witnessed one of them on our greyhound a few years ago,and we didnt see it burst just a hole (pea size) in her side with gunk all over her fur :x it took awhile for the hole to heal over and good news it never came back

glad raffertys as burst and now it can heal

benji used to have loads of these lil things alover his body. we thought that it could have been cancer but the vet put our minds at rest. he has none now

our boris had one right in the middle of his shoilder blads the first thing we noticed was his fur stuck up the next day it burts :x we cleand it with salt water put some lavander on it and its never come back that was 4 years a go

worlds longest lasting zit!pmsl!

I'm sure now that it was a sebaceous cyst, there is no sign of it at all now, not even a mark where it was :) I just can't believe it was there for over a year before it burst :x

They seem to be quite common don't they?

He does have a very small one on his neck but I won't worry about that now & it will probably burst in about 2010 anyway
