WHAT A SHAME TO SEE LENNY RICHARDSON LEAVING THIS SPORT... NO LIMIT MEANS JUST THAT,

HIS LETTER CAN BE READ IN THIS MONTHS WHIPPET NEWS ,I KNOW HOW HE FEELS AT THE MINUITE.

OUR TWO LITTLE DOGS 16LBS HAVE TO RUN OF WITH DOGS UPTO 32LBS TWICE THE SIZE.. SO WHY SHOULD NO LIMIT CAUSE SUCH A FUSS OR IS IT JUST JELOUSY IN CERTAIN PARTS OF THE SPORT

AS LENNY SAID HE ONLY RUNS BENDS ANYWAY ,YOU DONT SEE GREYHOUND MEN COMPLAINING ABOUT WEIGHTS 50LB TO 70 LB AND UPTO 99LB SPRINTERS OR STAYERS IN OPEN CLASS DOGS ALL RUN OF SCRATCH ....

SO WHY SHOULD A GOOD DOG LIKE STUNNER BE ANY DIFFERENT, SAD TO SEE LENNY GO

I have to agree with you there mutley, no limit means no limit and as for running off with 32lbers, well the little dogs get injured on the lure......sad to see some one leave the sport because of backstabbing........

those of you that know me my dogs have been in the 30lb mark and i do worry in finals or run off,s that they may injure smaller dogs but then should u pull out or them or this is may be some to think about what about doing time trails do see best time wins i know it might sound silly but its our dogs that get hurt and thats what we dont want to see

As for the 32lbers running off with the little uns - Is this not all the more reason to change the racing formats? So that to make the race closer at the finish line & not have big dogs running in yards behind the little uns?

I know of people who run little dogs & would go ballistic if a 30lber injured their 18lber but don't complain when they're picking trophies & top ten points up for final wins at yd/lb.

wondered how long it would be before this subject came up again, just because ppl have small dogs it does not mean they want to change the format from yard a pound to anything else, stands to reason if the whippets keep getting bigger and bigger then we need to change the weight groups or start breeding smaller, and 32 lb is a heavy missile going into a 21lber or smaller when on the lure, we have raced our whippets at yard a pound for many years and like it  ,,, makes u wonder why ppl want to whippet race when they are always finding fault with what we do ??? ;)change the point system so that the heavy dogs don't have to run off if they don't want, will save some injuries for all sizes of dogs, big and small. :p

With regards to this subject just reappearing (racing formats) those who attended the BWRA AGM would know that it was actually brought up there but fell on deaf ears as Scotty will no doubt tell you.

The no limit issue was also discussed at length and this was a very close decision with the chairmans vote deciding.

But if you are attending the EGM perhaps you can get this over ruled also. :p ???

lenny aint leaving the sport, and for those who remember his old dogs wally stag and radgy jack, will know he is just as good at getting little dogs running well as well as big dogs, hes good for the sport ,a man who knows more about whippets and greyhounds than most vets do,anyway there you go lenny aint packing in,and im glad to hear it too,he helped me alot with my dogs,so good luck to him i say :D

The problem i have with no limiters at the moment ( no dig at stunner) is that 3/4 greyhounds are being bred to greyhounds.....which i think is getting away from what whippet racings about..

Lenny may or may not be leaving racing whippets but im sure he will be involved in dog racing for a very long time

The subject was about no limits not yard per pound racing ..nothing wrong with the way it is already.

I see variety in alot of events now ie:2ft lb 1/2 yard a lb

Yrd a pound does not stop good open class dogs winning bend or straight open ie:fluke mad mick kinda magic ect

I was only using 16lb to 32lb dogs running off as an example

because between the no limit dogs there must be only 10lb between them

I know it was left as it has always been at the AGM only right too

thanks neil for letting me know that lenny has decided to stay in the sport :D

I would think there must be more than 10lb between the lightest and heaviest no limit dogs....there must be more than 10lb weight difference between wonderwall and stunner?

:D glad to hear lenny aint leaving the sport neil, he has had a lot of good dogs over the years and i hope he has a lot more, big or little.........

nah only about 28 lb difference :( in wonderwall and stunner, but never mind ey ;)

Great to see that Lenny is still with us, but even Lenny should see that no limit was ment to gin=ve a bit of lee waY TO OUR BREEDING, but when you cross a greyhound to a 3/4 greyhound with our bully in the middle what do you expect. now back to the handicap format, I will bet my house and life that a bitch weighing no more than 22ld will be the next supreme champ at all majors. Now if was fair I could never have said that , roll on fluke thats what i say, the best DOG in the country under the present format.

please tell me what does no limit mean or is do i speak double duch :D :) ;)

not worth geting our leads out bring back good old days stop arguing and lets race again classes in such a decline i still say no limit means just that

I agree with you there Gaz :D :D :D

Shame alot of people have forgotten or not been in the sport long enough to remember THE GOOD OLD DAYS

I AGREE NO LIMIT MEANS NO LIMIT AND AT THE END OF THE DAY IVE GOT A 37LB WHIPPET AND IF HE EVER GETS TO A SUPREME RUN OFF WITH A BIG 70LB+ THEN I WOULD WISH THEM GOOD LUCK AND RUN MY DOG :D

:D WELL DONE RITCHIE, YOU ARE A REAL SPOTSMAN, JUST WHAT WHIPPET RACING NEEDS....... :D :) :p

well said richie we had agood sratch dog smurfett 34 lb and entered her in 40 lb scr if the 36 class had no dogs in it she never struggled
