Hi I’m after some advice as feel like I’m getting no where with my vet. My dog initially chewed and swallowed some blanket about 3 months ago and ever since that incident she’s had severe bouts of vomiting every few weeks I’ve had her to the vets numerous times regarding this issues and after urine and blood tests the vets say they can’t find anything that’s worrying them no signs of intestinal blockages etc. they haven’t done any scans because they say it is unlikely the fleece blanket would show up I’ve changed her food as recommended by the vets to a more gastro friendly food and also given her a course of medication for 5 days to help flush any possible bacterial infections out her stomach and now again today I’ve had the same issue with vomiting numerous times and the vets don’t seem interested I’ve gone from using a private vet to using the pdsa and just feel like I’m getting no where and the dog is suffering all why this is going on. She is still very active and doesn’t seem in pain but just keeps having these vomiting episodes so any advice is greatly appreciated

I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but could you ask to be referred to a GI specialist?

Another thought is to keep a diary to see if you can find a connection that isn't related to the blanket she chewed.

Are you picking through what she has thrown up to see whether there are any obvious ’foreign’ bits present? I’m not an expert by any means and perhaps this course of action wouldn’t help but, in my amateur, it’d close one door. Hope you find a solution.

I’ve took samples of vomit to the vets today and they have booked her in for a X-ray and ultra sound tomorrow to check for blockages and foreign objects that could be causing her vomiting so hopefully one step closer to a solution now 🤞🏻
