Hi Guys,

Not sure if any of you are familular with Belle, she had surgery to remove a bladder stone last tuesday, 22nd.

She has been fine and the wound is healing nice, but further up towards her front she is developing a reddy rash with purpley marks around where the fur has been shaved......its just odd that its not shown up before now......

Could it just be bruising even though it has shown up so long after the op?

any ideas, cheers

Dave

sounds like bruising to me which usually appears as red and purple blotches, and im sure bruising can take a few days to come out.

when my girls where speyed the bruising came out slowly a couple of days after surgery, then disappeared fairly quickly.

i think if your still worried or the marks get worse go back to the vets for a little reassurance . hope this helps a little

thankyou trish!!

will get back to vets if it doesnt clear soon.....

any update on belle, was she ok

hi trish,

thanks for asking!

belle doing fine, she had stitches out last friday, healing ok.

she is on the urinary dog food, until we get results of stone test back.

they did say it looked like a calcium oxidate stone and not a sulvite stone, whatever that means!?

anyway will keep you posted

dave

You could give her Arnica to help with the brusing.
