Thanks Macha - that article you refer to is written by the same person I have been in contact with regarding Valentine's heritage!

In fact, when I first reliazed Josef was a sloughi, I contacted her then as well, and she was just great, though had never dealt with a feral sloughi before. Abused and neglected sloughis, yes, but actually living on their own for a lenght of time? - no. However, the inights she gave me into sloughi temperament were a Godsend.

Have you managed to find homes for Josef and/or Valentine yet? Josef was posted at http://www.irishanimals.com for the longest time! but I don't recall seeing him when I looked again recently.

There was one sloughi, from Cork, exhibited at the Portadown KC show (actually held in Belfast) this autumn. The number of sloughis registered last year by the Kennel Club (UK) was tiny and I wouldn't expect there are many in Ireland.
