Well so what if it was a bit damp and dismal, after a good hearty rub down and some stretches the gang were piled into the back of the Whippetmobile and off we went to Rossington.

The photo's aren't great as the camera is not too hot (better at stills and slow moving objects). But we had a great time. Met two other whippets and K9er DillonsMum who were just on their way home as we were on our way out. Hopefully next time they meet there'll be plenty of time for a game of chase which Blaze will love as she's glad of "big-whippet" company to mess about with.

Great to see Kerri getting into the swing of things she was like 7 years going on 4 years running and racing about (she even put two rabbits up in the undergrowth and followed right on their tails through twists and turns like a youngster)

Love these two, sadly not great shots but the blur is Talli clearing her favourite dyke. The water was well up with this wet weather and she was in her element clearing the banks with ease.

There.

And back.

Now we're home and they're all snoozing contentedly after a bowl of warm porridge :huggles:

Pics are great Elise  you're braver than me,our lot haven't been out yet,it's coming down in buckets :(

My sister just came in, soaked through :D we just missed the bad weather, enough time to get adults in and puppies out of bed and up the garden for a wee before it stopped spitting and started chucking it down.

Mind you don't get hit by those buckets though  .

Love the pics..............makes you remember how good whippets look in the fields chasing rabbits and the like..................no wonder they make good hunting dogs.

I couldn't keep them on leads, understandable maybe in the lead up to a big event when you want to condition them ready for the big day. My pups are 10 weeks old, in a week or so's time they'll be out there too (in a gradual process hopefully they'll be off with everyone else in a few weeks time).

There are just coming back from seasons/pups and I felt it was important to get their general fitness going first, they can take things at their own pace (if you'd have seen them last week you'd have thought they were made of lead they were that sluggish) and push each other as much as is needed without being dragged out for miles of walking without having the basic fitness level sorted.

After todays excursion I'm confident that the real work can start next week :nuke:

(Though I thik my basic fitness levels could do with a bit more work first :- ")
