Tip for clearing up runny poo ...........Carry a washing up bottle full of water and squirt it onto the runny poo to dissolve it completely :D

That way you don't have to worry about picking it up and you have cleaned up after your dog! Sorted!!!!!
Haha good job I'm not still working - can imagine going into a class and one of the students saying' miss, why were you washing the pavement outside my house last night?' Or even worse, them having it on their phones! :b

Hi there SD

Sounds like excited poos to me also

Re: raw diet, If you don't use them, you could start off with chicken necks until they get used to chewing up bones well.

The bones are small and they chew them up well usually, great for there teeth and good for them.

Chicken wings are fairly soft and are chomped up easily. Its those terrible cooked boned that stupid people leave lying around at parks or thrown out of car windows that are the problem. And sometimes they have eaten them before you can get to them

I know we hear a lot about bowel ruptures etc and any cases that a vet sees have to be put into perspective. I read a very good book once about a prominent vets working life. He could not speak highly enough of bones for dogs. He had been in practice for decades and had never encountered a case of bowel perforation due to a bone. Mind you as he says..."There is no doubt some dogs will have problems with bones but in all my years I have never had to treat any". ( Words to that effect)

Starting on bones is a worry when we have heard a lot of neg. reports (I have a vet nurse in the family)

But with a bit of care and introducing them gradually I think they can be a good thing.

We have a boy with AS he is 18 but you know what I mean, so I understand how mealtimes need to be kept simple. I have found a few necks or a wing or two with a greatly reduced serve of high quality dry food and a serve a well chopped raw veg works well for us. Smaller firmer stools mostly but ours still have the odd excited poo. This is only my preference I'm not trying to ram this down peoples throats :)

All the best.

Graeme
