Thanks Jo. Yes, she did a proper job, she dislocated it cranially as well as laterally. My Vet had never seen a cranial luxation, it is very, very rare (it can only happen to us!!! LOL!) and was amazed that she got it back in as easily as she did (time was of the essence in getting her to the Vet) and that she kept the bandage on for as long as she did because, apparently, the danger was it re-luxating within the first few days. Now it is just giving all the muscles, tendons and ligaments time to recover from being stretched to breaking point.~JO~ said:Thats good, I suppose it is going to take a while to get back to full strength - but glad it's improving. Post traumatic stress - awww poor Aimee she needs an extra special birthday treat thendessie said:Thanks for asking Jo. She is a lot better, she is sound on it but her exercise is still restricted (out with the Old & Infirm rather than the Fit & Active group!!) and she does feel it if she does something silly quickly or bangs it, which we do try to avoid. My Vet says she is fine to be shown although she did have a bout of post-traumatic stress (Aimee not my Vet!!) but seems to have cheered up now!~JO~ said:
She did have an extra birthday treat, she was allowed up in our bed ........... once she gets in there it is quite hard to prise her out again!!! It was the first time she had been allowed up and down the stairs and jumping on and off something (our bed's quite high) since her accident.
