Sad News from Worcester after trialing and running so well, Mark & Andrea Jones' Alfie (Dinky Boots) Outbound x Troubelle has broken his wrist. :(

He has been getting ready for the BWRA yearling Champs and showed great promise, but on coming back on the lure he knucked over and went down.

Not much luck for the Jones' as their other pup Louie has recently done a Tibia and has been at the vets, but hopefully is now on the road to recovery and swimming to get back to fitness.

Our best wishes are sent from all at WWRC and hopefully both will be back to full recovery soon :luck:

sorry to hear that, hope they both recover well.maybe we should stop puppy racing because too many are getting injured and some end up never racing again or dead.some people push them too much imo im sure this will upset some people but there seems to be quite a few pups that have been badly injured that they have had to be put to sleep.maybe we should just have yearling champs and let them come on slowly.jmo.im not saying this to cause trouble just worried about puppies welfare.good luck to you both with your pups. joe, lesley and kate. :luck:

So sorry to hear your bad news Andrea and Mark. Sincerely hope both the dogs make a full recovery. My five year old is just getting over a broken leg and vet said if he had been younger a 100 per cent recovery would be expected. Hope Alfies break is straightforward and I hear Louis is mending well.

Hi Mark & Andrea

Malcolm

I agree with you, perhaps clubs should rethink their lower limit for allowing pups to start training too, I personally think that 6 months (as it is at the rising sun) is too early for any pup to start chasing a lure. I know it's personal preference as to when you start a pup, but just my opinion is that i think 8 months is young enough. Maybe there are other influences on pups breaking legs, but I think it's important to do everything responsible that we can. Accidents happen, we know that only too well with jack. Maybe it needs a bit of thinking about, and maybe it needs a seperate thread, not wishing to take the emphasis away from alfies well wishers.
