Just come off the phone from speaking to Vern Hutchins, he has informed me that the club has closed and no more racing will be happening at this Venue.

It is in a way only to be expected as a club with few members and mainly older members cannot be sustained. Vern is hopeful that he will see people in and around race meetings in the future.

A very sad loss to the whippet racing world as Devon week was always looked upon as a good venue for most of us.

All the best to the Devon members in the future. :luck:

What the he ** has someone being banned got to do with a club shutting. Just another topic spoilted by people cousing trouble. And I won't be reading your reply because your name is now going with the long list I have already blocked. And if you want to block me then my proper name is beside by posts.

Surely it is sad enough that we have yet another club going to the wall --no need to drag everything down to your level surely by innuendo/or anything else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very sorry to hear this was looking forward to going again this year

best wishes to the members and thanks for the past years :luck: :luck: :luck:

all your time and effort you have put in to making this one of the most prestigious events on our callender it will be greatly missed--good luck with whatever you do in the future---

Steve?Karen and Harry

Have to agree with you steve and family, Had some great whippet racing and good holidays also, good company and laughs, a whippet meeting that will always stay ingrained in my head and heart. Who could wish for better?

Thanks for the memory Devon and Somerset club and workers. :luck:

If its not a premature question and i dont want to upset anyone by asking --- but what will happen o all the equipment ---will it be for sale as i might be interested in some of it ???

maybe John you could find out for me mate????

steve

Have e-mailed you details Steve and Lesley phoned and ask for your details, i told her you was a toothless wonder. :luck:

we need more youngsters in the sport to take over from us oldun's or there will be more and more clubs following the likes of murton and devon. :))

this club was really good even though i have only been a couple of times but i really enjoyed it, it was nice place to go to run your dog and it was loverly place to go if you like cider because there was a cider farm quite close to the track. it was also good weather when you went down there in the middle of summer(i think sorry if im wrong), you would come with sun tans.

so im very sorry of you loss of this venue kate

We have youngsters John but I know from running Dawdon that most of them just want to run there dog's. It's always the older people who help out. If the sport is it survive and for club's to stay open people are going to have to start pulling there weight. We would all like to just stand and watch but that dosn't run an open or a club. That's my little  over with for today.

i would love to join in Sharron but there is not much that us youngsters can do because most of it is sumthing that people say that adults can only do so if you ever have a job that i can do i will be glad to help out.

You can do plenty for the fed Kate theres raffles to sell and if you think your brave enough you could always try going on the mic , you can probably pronounce the dogs racing names better than i can :b

give these kids a chance at pulling traps doing the lure ect.... we all started somewhere
