I was devastated to hear about Devons closure and know only too well how hard Lesley, Mick and Vern have worked to keep this club and the open week going.Noone has got over the loss of Joyce but I believe the last straw was the BWRA AGM when Mick and Vern travelled 6 hours each way to go to it and found it very distasteful.  Certain members were laughing and showing no respect to the top table who I personally think have done a grand job this year of organising our racing.    You may say I wasn't there, no I could not afford to travel that far but heard the report first hand from Mick.    He was so disallusioned as was Vern that this helped make up their minds to finish whippet racing.

Which meeting was this at the reps or agm Audrey

must of been one of the best meetings everyone enjoyed the racing and devon countryside. looks like a one we will not be able to enjoy.. dont leave the whippets hazel and yourself, would be a sad loss to whippet racing :luck:

so sorry to hear about devon closing down, again as already said a brilliant holiday and racing venue, top class people also. I,m sure we will all miss devon so much. :huggles: :huggles: and the lovely people down their.

I know this is no consolation but could fordingbridge cover the ten days like a few years ago when devon was unable to do it. this is also a lovely place and again very friendly . good luck to all and have a merry xmas and new year
