hi guys. Does anyone own a Saluki/Greyhound x Whippet? If so i would really like some feedback because a close friend of mine is thinking of breeding his bitch. And i am thinking of having 1 to add to my bobbery pack!

Dont own one myself at the minute, but bred a litter from one of my WhippetxGreyhound bitches,a few years back, and have been asked on numerous ocasions to do it again,as they were first class hair dogs n bitches. Some of them knocked spots of realy good Saluki's,and 1/2 bred S/Gs.The travelers round here had a couple of them, and pestered me for more. The man who wrote the film,Man About Dog,Which my daughter and myself were in,has one of mine, and was well pleased with it.Dont know if its still alive though.Afew Saluki men have got services of me,to my w/g dog that i used to have.Over a full Saluki bitch. The litter i bred were Saluki dog, over W/G bitch. If i bred a few litters of these now,i could name my price,as i still have the same w/g line.Isuggest you dont miss this oppertunity. I will post you a pic,of the bitch i bred the pups from. She was 23 inches and 54lb weight. ...Billy...

i have a saluki/greyhound/whippet/collie

not sure what order!! (too early in the morning!) -_-

He is great no trouble, quick, a fast learner etc etc. Hes about 24 1/2", he is beautiful.

Do it!!!!

can you post some pictures? my friend thinks her rescue lurcher is greyhound-whippet-saluki or maybe some collie in the mix too

He's a very lively& energetic, friendly dog (but can be domineering with other dogs)

what would a typical temperament be for this mix?

ill post photos later on....

mine is a fab dog, lively when hes off the lead but sensible in the house. i think the collie in him has gave him a few brains.

he is rough haired but with the slender body and flopy ears (no feathering thou)

I got told that saluki x's were hard to train, Oscar is great thou.

i have a whippet x saluki/greyhound, shes wonderful , nice size and a great temprement , wonderful with my daughter. shes a failed worker, which is fine for me, no idea if its a trate of the cross or what.

edited to say- saluki cloth ears is a feature however

Oscar has very sensitive ears. I have to clean them lots.

our saluki/whippet/greyhound in the picture below is mad when off the lead...only likes to come back when 'shes' finished her walk - but thats a good thing when shes working because she very rarely comes back until she has got what she set out to get :sweating:

a brilliant dog in the house, excellent with kids and the other dog that we have and any other dogs that we meet :*

she's just gone 21 month's old and we tried her on the lure for the first time at a show over the weekend and she knocked spots off most of the dogs there :- "

she was the right hand dog in the semi finals and got bumped on the first bend...sending her wide around the pole  ..went about 10 yards behind the other dog but by the end she finshed 25 yards ahead (w00t)

we were a bit gutted about the first pole as we think she might have won the day.....and we never even thought of using her on the simulated coursing or racing before :teehee:

other people who were arond the track said that by the second time she ran the lure she new where it was going and was ready for the bend

i'd go for it mate...never thought i would say i liked the saluki but have been very pleasantly surprised by this mix :D

This is oscar at the farm. taken last year, he was about 5 months in the pic.
