:D Bumped this to the top for Cartman LOL

Millie - all these lovely photos and not one of your lovely bitch - didn't she do well in PG? Surely someone took a photo for you?

Thats a shame, she did look nice to, she seems to have suddenly grown up and rounded off. What was Dessie doing, not taking a picture?

who is the person, first photo who is a k9 as i,ve seen her at shows a few times.
Hi ya - that would be me - Wendy. I have one of Dawn & Richard Mason's girls Aphrael Aoife. We were very pleased with the results yesterday - VHC in both Grad and PG bitch:)

All that running round the ring - phew!!! I didn't mind so much (after I caught my breath back) but by the end of each class Savannah just stopped dead by the last round as if to say 'but MUMMMMM I've done this 9 times already!!!'. Hmmmm think if we're going under more Australian judges we'll both need to practice LOL.

If you see me again at shows please pop over and say hi! Always glad to meet another K9er!

Wendy

ps - thanks Millie for getting a relatively decent shot of me hidden behind Savannah! I dread photos and that's not bad!

Unfortunately not. I'm taking a big block of time off between Aug and Oct so I can't take any time off for the weekday shows this year.

I'll be at Blackpool and Windsor are my next 2 Champ Shows.

We're located in Poole, Dorset so any Open shows in that area (depending on where you're from) you might see me at - we're at Southampton the week before Blackpool.

Our last name is Jones, so if you're at either Blackpool or Windsor by all means look us up. We don't tend to sit by the ring until toward the end of the dog judging - we usually shop or sit on the benches where it's cooler until then.

Wendy

:D Dessie did try and take a photo of Lucy but couldn't work out the Zoom on my camera

:D Here's a pic we took later in the day of her, but as you can see she turned her head away at the wrong moment. LOL

I gather the judge worked you all very hard and sent you round the ring about 10 times - I would have loved to have seen that! :sweating:   Good job it wasn't as hot as last year!
LOL! 'Bout time you English folk did a bit of RUNNING round the ring! ;)

welldone millie great to see other k9ers and well done to jan and libby

The more Teeni ran around the better she liked it, shes a bitch that ideally you would give a good run to early in the morning before the show. I got a chance to speak to her after, she said she had a great time.

I also love the fact that the dogs were put in numerical order at the start of the class, I dont know why we dont do that over here, what do the rest of you think?

Wendy,

We are roughly in the same area as you are, please could you let me know if you have any dates for any more shows as I don't know where to look, we're from Salisbury.

We went to Southern Counties are first dog show and we had a really good time although we spent nearly all day at the Whippet ring, but then what do you expect. :)

I like to go numerically too , Im near the end being a `W`( no comments please).

I read several of you go round the stands before going in the ring ,. Its a shame you dont watch the judging , that is where you learn about whippets , what the judge is looking for and what makes a good whippet , Thats if the judge knows what they are doing and are honest

There is always time to go around the stalls during lunch ,if taken ,or after.

Ok so I dont watch all of it now adays but there is still much for me to learn. :- "

I tried running, but Ellie went on strike. She said it was hot and she doesn't do fast!! :huggles:

Hi,

Who are the 2nd and 3rd K9'ers pictured? The 1st has been identified as Wendy, 4th is Dessie, but who are the middle two?

Sounds like you all had a brill day...really good photos...good to put faces to names!

I've just bought a digital camera...so i will have a go at posting my own photos soon. Won't see me at the the shows though...my whippy is not nearly good enough

No 2 is yours truly with my old lady, Harriet in the Veteran class. No 3 is Karen.

Thanks Vanna! It's been a while since I've hung around the whippet rings as I tend to go to utility & toy day these days. Must try to get to hound day once in a while!

Well, for the last 2 shows there's been no lunch break  so that would be no good. We get to the show, set up, do a once round all the stands, then head back in and stay in the cool with Savannah for a while. We come out toward the end of the dogs and have about 5 classes we watch before going in. I think that qualifies as watching the judging and getting an idea of what they're after. However the way the judging has been lately each class can be different LOL.

Anyway, we like to go round the stalls early to see what's there - pick up a few bits, and eyeball where we want to go back to and spend more time at the end of the day. We've picked up a couple of things that would have been gone had we gone later. Works for us and we still get to see lots of judging.

Wendy
