   :D intersesting ricky so at one time anything over 32lb would be classed as a no limit then? Am I right?  Were there as many bigger dogs about then?
hi carole

I owned a no limit bitch in the early 80's there was no 40lb class, you could not reg with the BWRA so could not run at any of there opens the hosting club had to put the scratch racing on if they wanted to. so yes ther were opens that all who raced had to be 32lb and under (if your 32lber weighted a little over in those days you couldn't run, no other class to go into) but in those days there was good club racing with many clubs running more dogs than many opens today WHO NEEDED TO TRAVEL and to have the club scratch dog was a great achievment. though on the open scene there were plenty of great scratch racers, though they often took the back seat when it came to reporting there achievments.

 just been reading this topic again and I just remebered at an open when mickey whizz was a youngster. He was already 50lb by then the open was run as weighed and we were made to weigh him it was quite comical watching the person weighing trying to lift him on the scales. lol  I have just been thinking about the scratch how about this 30 to say 35lb could b 35lb scratch then 36 to 40lb 40lb scratch or maybe a little bit more like 42lb scratch or somat then no limits? Just a thought. It would cetrtainly save the heavyweights of over 30lb giving too many yards away in a main final and pulling out wouldnt it?
