Hi everyone,
My dog Morgan snapped his cruciate ligament and was admitted to hospital for surgery on the 9th and operated on on the 11th. There was complications with his blood clotting time and brusing and swelling in his leg after pin and plating so was kept in for a further 4 days.
I had only supplied naturediet wet food for two days so he was fed a sensitive dog food supplied by most vets. He lost weight on this diet
On returning home, his stools smelled horrendous, they had the smell of fermented grain. I had a look at the ingredients and it was nearly 40% corn and meat meal. Unfortunately Morgan has not fully recovered from what he was fed at the veterinary hospital. He's just not gaining weight. He's eating everything in sight and is still hungry. He was on coagulants for 7 days so this might be the result, but i doubt it.
I generally feed my greys on WolfTucker raw complete diet for supper and Nature diet wet for breakfast. They thrive on this with shiny coats, clean smelling breath and a stool with very little odour. I am taking Morgan back to the vet as I'm not happy with his weigh loss.
Has anyone experienced a problem with the foods baught from the vet?
