hello all

my puppy 11weeks old has been very poorly and think he may have self limiting disease. he is a weimaraner. he has been at the vets for three days and had all sorts done to him. I am completely heart broken for him. Has anyone heard of the condition and can anyone give me any positive stories on dogs making a full recovery and living a happy dog life.

many thanks

thanks for all reading and not even bothering to even send a message!!! I am devestated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi weimaraner1979,

I read your post and I am sorry to hear your puppy is so poorly at such a young age, I have never heard of self limiting disease so cannot offer any advice to you, How is your puppy now after several days in the vets? have they managed to definitely diagnose him yet?

Sending beagle hugs to you and your pup

hi there! Have you heard any more from your vet?

a self limiting disease or condition is one that has a limted time span, something like chicken pox or a vomiting bug. That is, it is an illness that has a definite time frame, not something ongoing...

i think so many people have looked without replying to you, out of curiosity, as they will also be wondering what "self limiting disease" is.

perhaps your vet used this phrase, as he was trying to set your mind at rest, and didn't have a definite diagnosis. I take it to mean that your vet expects your pup to get better.

have you any further news ? there are a few people on here who have had poorly puppies, perhaps with a bit more detail about whats happening someone could give you some advice.

Good luck with your puppy, fingers crossed for you, it must be dreadful to not know whats happening to him,
