Some of yu who attended the show in Donemana last year, will remember this big lad,who judges the show.He was also a very well and respected coursing and lamping enthusiast, when he was in the game.Big Gerard as he was known to us,has been a driving instructer for many years now,but as experienced as he is,nothing could have prepared him for what happened yesterday morning, when a cop car came straight for him,and he and his wife were involved in a horific head on colision.Gerard has a badly broken leg,and colar bone, and a few broken ribs. But his poor wife is very seriously ill,and there was ytalk of them turning off the machines last night. As ive been away all day,i havent been in touch with anyone,to get the latest on her,but will know more in the morning.I just hope she;s in Gods hands at the moment.Mickey Lynch, who is Gerards nephew, was to have gone to Roscrea with Kirsty n me this weekend,to run Swifty, who he got from me,and although we had to call our trip off at the last minute so to speakfor our own reasons, it looks very like we will have a more sorrowful reason not to be there now.Would just like to ask all those who would have met him that day,or known him before the show,+all those who say a wee word at night,to think of the big fella over the next week or so,as i know it would be a comfort to him,to know that a load of us lurcher folk, actualy do gave a shit, bout our fellow lurcher friends.Hers the big man himself.
