Hi there I was looking to see if anyone has advice for dogs with severe IBD and Acid Reflux, he’s been on Hills z/d diet wet and dry, is on 2 a day 5mg prednisone, ranitidine and has been on antibiotics but we have been told to take him off them now. The position we are in is he is still being sick, diarrhoea, restless at night, dry mouthed and heaving breathing and is constantly licking floors and when out just wants to eat everything. So we were at vets yesterday who said it’s the ibd but checked his lungs etc and all seems ok, but she advised me that his condition esp severe that I should go home speak it over with the family and think about his future and that he is an unhealthy dog. We are in bits but don’t want him in any distress or pain so we feel because he is eating, drinking, barking etc and is able to move about we think we’ll hes ok we can manage this. We Really could use folks advice. He’s a Shih Tzu and is only 2. Thank you for reading.
