A great day of enjoyment was had by all. There were a few showers, but overall the weather was good.

Matt Lee and Sheamus Irvine done a great job today, and allowed us all to forget all our troubles and cares for a day. Looking forward to tomorrow for another great days leisure time at the sport we really and truly love.

A big Congratulations to John Humphries ( Stormy ) and his brilliant dog " China " who won the unders in racing today at Shanes Castle. Well done Stormy and as they say here in Northern Ireland " Keep her Lit "

And up there for the women was Kirsty Harpur with her wonderful dog " Renee " who won the overs at Shanes Castle today. We are all delighted for you Kirsty. A well deserved win with a well bred dog.We are very proud of you.

And of course not forgetting Janet Dukes Vixen, He did his bit by winning the Whippet racing. A hearty congratulations Janet. Vixen never lets you down

There was also a lovely touch of excitement, When Karl & Evelyn Kerr were presented with their cup and many prizes for winning" Overall Pup Idol " run by the Sunday Life.

In the same competition Rose Mc Coy won the class for the Bravest Dog with her beautiful dog "Miss Tori. " Rose was also presented with her prize today. Well done Rose. There will be some sale on the "Sunday Life" tomorrow, not forgetting your win with them animals I am afraid of "Ferret Racing."

See you all again tomorrow.

SO THE MUPPET DID NOT LET YOU DOWN LOL 8) Well done to the M A W T L C if it was not for all your time and effort we would not have had this great day to talk about

Had a great day after the showers finished, jumping from one gazebo to another was great as well, good to see so many people having a good day, enjoyed the chat, well done billy/kirsty and stormy and janet, see you all at the newtownards show july 4th, starting at 12, God bless, hard luck to all who didn't do as good as they wanted, I was among you, but the adrenaline was awesome :)

Just like to say, that it was wee Alannah who won the overs today,as Reni is her's.Kirsty did of course play a big part, and got her away well in her heat, which she won comfortably. But having 2 in such an important final as this one,led me to think that maybe there just might be that wee bit of magic in these old hands yet.So i opted to throw cation to the wind. The camera in the boot, and myself, for the 1st time in over 10 years,on the start line,of an all ireland final.I was litteraly shakinf, from the toes up.It has been years since ive felt that addrenalin rush. All i was hoping for wit Reni, was abit of luck, and maybe a second place,as i couldnt seee her beating Dannyboy.Guess she had other ideas, and kept her best kept secret, till she wanted to let it out.Anyway,as i said, she belongs to da wee madam, and it made me a very proud dad,to see her collect not only her first, racing championship trophy. But the flippin all ireland championship one.Felt sorry for Kirsty though,as she was so looking forward to maybe clinching the title herself.Maybe when we get a bit of rai this end of our little island,we can get some fitness work in,and she will take a wee bit of glory back from us,by kickin our ass's,and Kirsty being Kirsty.Rubbing it in,with all that she has, lol. Was great to see all the dogs come off injury free today, and the heat, for the most part, stayed well under 20 degree's.See you all tomorrow,in the ring.Just like to say a big well done to all the winners today, and thank Seamus and Matt for an exelent day's sport.Nice to be back,ha ha. ...Billy

Poor we Allanah, SORRY we pet, I thought when Kirsty was handling your beautiful Dog Rennee it was hers. Alannah keep up the good work, that makes me even more proud of you, you are a little star.

Had a great day yesterday! Big Congratulations to all the winners today and especially to John with China. Rose's Diego was also flyin today I think luck wasnt on his side. But I bet there is more to come from the boyo yet! Hopefully injury free next time Rose! (Of course I was routing for Paris Deirdre) :D

I just wanted to mention Miss Tori who got snapped yesterday for her part in winning the Most Courageous Dog catagory in the Sunday Life competition, this is a big acheivement for Rose and Tori and were proud that she done this for "The Miss Ellie" team. LOL

Enjoy yourselves today, dont think we will be making it as the wee girl isnt feeling great today.

some well fit dogs all seems to have went well have heard or read nothing but good reports could not get there due to work john fair play you have turned china round she is back on form by the looks of the pictures and that wee whippet of janets seems unbeatable at the moment big smokie is looking fit he and coatsy must be doing alot with thier billy haper is doing well alng with the girls amd Id say Kirsty and her younger sister work hard good luck to all mentioned and to those not mentioned and hope to see some good racine in newtownards good luck

Will add whatever i have to this thread when i get the chance to.Was realy proud of wee Alannah on Saturday. Not just because her bitch won the overs. But in the way she was catching the dogs at the top too.Soon as the final was run.I got into the car,and raced the whole way from the start line,to the finish line,to get there and gave her a hand,as she had the 2 dogs to catch.Coudnt find,or see her anywhere. No sign of the dogs either, till someone pointed the wee critter out.She was right back down at the start line, with the 2 dogs by the collars. The big moment for me though, was when she was called up to recieve the glory trophy, from Seamus. Was just like it was a couple of months ago, when Kirsty won her first racing championship trophy with Dannyboy.Kirsty's workrate with the dogs when the racing is on,is 2nd to none,as she has 4 dogs to work with on her own,and is on the line with each and every one of them,in good time for the next race.Would make some greyhound kennel,a good kennel hand one day. We've not been doing too bad this year so far, with 2 show championships, out of 5,and 3 racing championships, out of 3,in the overs. My girls are realy making me a very proud dad this year, and i love them so very much for it.I had the pleasure of slipping an all ireland champ again, and boy does it feel gooooooood. That was the 1st time i slipped a dog in 10 years too,and it seems ive just picked up the puck, from where it landed all those years ago,as ive still not lost an all ireland final that ive slipped our own dog in.Bragging i know. But what the heck.Everybody else does it lol. Some even do some sort of wibily wobily belly dances,ha ha.John.Youre 6 packs gone somewhere mate.Comes with old age lol.
