the medieval fair at Shane's Castle, Randalstown, Co Antrim, N Ireland will include lurcher and terrier events

I saw newspaper adverts today. I can't access the webpages from work; they are banned because of weapons content (mention of crossbows?jousting?)

here are some URLs for those who want to try looking them up:

http://www.countrysportsandcountrylife.com...tival/index.htm

http://www.irishmedievalfestival.com/

You are welcomed to use this thread to give further details about the event, discuss any past experiences of this show, & say who's going there

I won't be attending - am already torn between dulcimer festival (traditional music) in Bushmills and fiddle and dancing workshops in Derry. see - I do have other interests besides my dogs!

this should be a good show, i seen pic's of the last medieval fair & it looks good

The Lurcher and Terrier events at this show were advertised as the all-ireland championships but i heard recently that that was a miss-print and that the all-irelands will be held in september as usual, but i will still be going to this show as it should be good anyway,

Who all is going? :p

according to the promotional leaflet for the fair, which gives a provisional programme, there will be whippet and lurcher racing in the main arena 12.30-1.00 pm both Sat and Sun, followed by ferret racing. It's nice to see the races featuring in the main arena. I wonder will there be more lurcher events to the side; evven though the races are short, a half an hour goes quickly if there are many entries and several heats to run.
