Hi,

I am new here, nice to connect.

I am looking for a breeder who breeds Shiba Inu / Siberian Husky crosses.

If anyone knows of anyone, please could you point me in the right direction.

thanks,

charlie

Hello and welcome.

To be honest, I think you will struggle to find a breeder (or at least, an ethical one) who would cross these two breeds. And with their breed characteristics (to flush game, and to run in a straight line and keep running) you could end up with a dog with conflicted needs that are quite hard to fulfill.

Can I ask why a cross of these two breeds appeals to you?

Welcome to the forum!

I'm endorsing the above post from Joanna as it contains great wisdom. Unfortunately, these designer crosses are often bred for all the wrong reasons - to make money, first and foremost, and to produce puppies entirely based on physical appearance rather than good health, good temperament and good conformation. As a consequence, such dogs find themselves in rescue shelters, and so the cycle goes on. The breeder has made their money, and cares nothing for the fall-out on owners and shelters.

You are likely to find both Huskies and Shiba Inus in shelters. You may even find a crossbreed. If you love these breeds and have sufficient understanding of their needs, I urge you to visit a shelter and adopt a dog that needs a loving home, rather than putting money into the pocket of an unethical breeder who has no interest in the welfare of dogs. You will likely find a lifelong companion, and will further help the work of the shelter by freeing up a space and funding shelter for some other unfortunate, unwanted dog.

Good luck, and thank you for the question.
