My IG loves to jog with my wife but has been having a problem with the pads on his feet. We can't let him jog with her now because he has developed sores on his pads. Does anyone have any suggestions for shoes for IG's that will enable him to resume his jogging. The poor boy just sits at the door whining when she leaves.

Check out this link dogshoes

Hope it works. This link was on here a while ago, hope this will help you.

This is so sad, I can picture him sitting by the door waiting. I hope that you are able to find a solution :luck:

And these are the best I would think for running, they have rubber soles and are really quite nice for the IG foot.

One more thing to add, I bought many different styles of shoes and found most to be garbage, and not worth a single penny.

I have this style and think it's ok: Soft Suede Type

And this style: Rubber Sole Type

They other types are pointless, don't waste your money. If you would like more particular info about the ones I bought, didn't use and tossed, feel free to PM me or email me.

Good luck!

I love those pictures!

I love coming on the IG site it makes me laugh :)) Love the shoes..pics are cute

Hi, with your experience of using shoes, what size would you use? My bitch loves to keep up with the whippets out walking, but if I allow her to she gets sore pads , so sounds like shoes may be the answer, thanks, Yvette

:huggles: Ah, what a lovely picture they look really cute with there shoes on.

 Just love Igs

(w00t) (w00t) :D :clown: That's just the cutest funniest picture ever!!! What stylish footwear though, wish i could have a pair myself! I now cycle nearly everyday with my dogs on all sorts of surfaces and thankfully so far (touch wood) Gucci's pads are fine, but i will keep these booties in mind if she ever needs any, obviously they would have to be in pink ha ha  (Woody however has scraped his pads a couple of times whilst doing a 100mph skid as a squirrel runs accross his path! But thankfully they have always healed quickly)

For thr rubber sole style - If you have a large footed IG - get the size 2, if you have a smaller footed IG - get size 1. Size 1 fits almost all IG's and 2 is a bit big, unless you've got that biggie iggie who is 16 inches tall!

For the suede type - get the XXS size for the smaller foot, or XS for the bigger foot.

So basically, most IG's will fit in the size 1 or XXS size bracket, but if you have a 16 incher +; go for the next size up.

Good luck.

How old is the dog, how far does it have to run & on what surface? It seems strange that a running dogs feet are too soft to handle running. Wouldn't shoes ultimately make the problem worse? Just wondering.
