Well I am a Fed committeer member and I do draw up the calendar

THATS ALL I EVER TRY TO DO, MAKES YOU WONDER IS IT WORTH IT, SO EASY TO RUN YOUR DOG AND GO HOME.

well i just want to say that i dont know where the fed would be without any people that help out and i think you just need to sort the dates out, i also beleive that opens should not be ran on the same day as it makes opens more popular hence more money for the clubs but thats something to think about isnt it,

im sure this can be sorted out instead of arguin yet again

KATE ;)

Think your right Kate to be honest think theres far too many opens im sure this causes many clubs to pack up

due to the lack of dogs as everyone is away week after week open racing ourselves included .

If opens were cut down clubs could become strong again like years gone by after all without clubs there won't be opens

I thought dates were booked via Whippet News?

Surely it would make sense to have one person organising the racing calendar purely to avoid conflicts like these?

I know we've had our BWRA Bend Bonanza on the same date for 4 years and this years was confirmed with Whippet News but unfortunately for the NNWRF they had to arrange a date for their Superleague which is now booked the day before our open. I know Chris offered the option of re-arranging our date because it might reduce attendances but we've decided to proceed as we think we'll get a good attendance regardless.

I know it must be upsetting and like I've said it would probably be best having one person managing the racing calendar but I suspect organising dates not just with Whippet News but also the tracks themselves must be difficult and crossovers may be inevitable.

Personally I recon both events will be well attended, especially if formats are different.

I am really annoyed at this post Les or Linda ...this is getting all blow out of proportion The Materblaster open was never down to be run at horden ever ..it was advertised as venue and date to be arranged

However these dates the NNWRF have been given by the Whippet news are only provisional ..i would think most dates for opens are the same the the min until after the weekend

It sadness me to read your topic / post ..this is all down to lack of communication
i'v just opened Jan W.NEWS and it says 7TH AUG nnwrf m blaster/ ballystorm hordon also says 14th AUG NOTTS/DERBY OPEN so why would you put a open on 14th aug when that date as already been taken !! so i take it your date of the 14th of aug was a mistake and you will now be changing it to another date ?? as notts/ derby have already been given that date by the w.news

Unsure about the dates in whippet news i haven't seen the latest issue

cant see why the nnwrf would change the date thats been given in W.news and they can still have ie 7th of aug to a date thats been taken by notts and derby ie 14th aug and try to put a open on in the same reg, why not just keep 7th at old hall ???????

Still upset & annoyed at the rudeness in the 1st post tbh..but hey what ever

 I appreiate what you're saying Dee, but put yourself in the position of the Notts & Derby Club. They book an open, date given and we're all ready to run on thjat day, No opposition. Then a couple of weeks (months) later, suddenly, there's not only another open, but it's in the same region! In no way, can this be right! IMO There has to be a better way! We're all supposed to be doing the best for our sport and surely, this is not the right way, when it alienates one of the best servants of Whippet Racing you will ever find! I ask that organisers, THINK ON!

As i said Dee i think its just crossed wires ..Linda does the fed calender and i was unaware of any other opens booked in on same dates as nnwrf opens as i did not have a wn till this afternoon

I am more than sure people from Notts & Derby Club was very annoyed to and know how things came be very frustrating at times , but still think the 1st post on this topic was out of order ..the mannerism stinks tbh

Its all i am staying on the subject i don't really care what date we have for the open

this will be sorted out on sunday im sure its not like it was done intentionaly

the reason the NNWRF date was changed from 7th to 14th whilst not being aware of Notts/derby having booked the 14th was to put an open at the Championship venue 2 weeks before it was hoped to be a weekend event with OldHall and storage arranged for caravans for the 2 weeks upto the champs for anyone who wanted it (all to be confirmed after the BWRA and Old Hall AGM's, when I was informed by Chris one of our committee members " Lynda Windle won't be happy Notts/Derby have booked the 14th" ( I couldn't get back in to edit the post), I told Chris as it wasn't definate yet I would speak to Lynda after the AGM on Sunday if the champs did go to Old Hall ask if they would swap dates if they would'nt we will change it.

If Lynda and Les had been given correct info then there was no call for the post put on by Les Windle. I tried to apologise to Les on Sunday an explain the situation which he wouldn't accept, thats his choice the NNWRF do not intentionally tread on peoples toes

we have 13 events to sort dates and venues for trying to spread them fairly evenly through the calendar is no easy task we very often change dates when asked if possible to accommodate or link up with others

we have this year pulled the cushti /one o' one TT open to help the packed calendar anyone who has the trophies from this event please return them so they can be passed back to the sponsor

Linda just to set the record straight les and lynda has not been misinformed of any dates by me.

Les and lynda new nothing about your phone call to me until after the fed dates were put on k9 on friday

when lynda contacted me to ask what were the fed playing at changing master blaster 7th aug to our date 14th aug

it was only then they new you had phoned

When you phoned to tell me fed dates and venues you said that the fed were putting an ADDITIONAL OPEN on at old hall on

the 14th aug due to people liking a run on the track before champs this being that the b.w.r.a champs were there.

I pointed out to you that you would get some stick and that lynda would not be happy due to this being notts & derby open

You said you would have a word with les and lynda at the b.w.r.a agm sunday ( fine end of story )

But then dates and venues were put on k9 friday stating in black and white master blaster 7th aug had been changed to 14th aug THIS IS WHAT PISSED LES OFF why not wait till you had spoken to les and lynda and wheres the ADDITIONAL OPEN

Be honest did you really think you could put dates on for everyone to see in black and white master blaster 7th aug changed

to 14th aug at old hall same day as notts & derby same region and no one would say anything it were also pointed out by a

committee member of old hall that they new nothing of any such open being held at old hall.

Who changed the date who put dates on k9 not me so dont blame me.

not blaming anyone Chris I put the dates on I forgot to put tbc alongside it, but the date being 4 months away plenty of time to re-arrange things, the W.N calendar is full of preliminary dates and will be shuffled around quite a bit over the next couple of weeks as it allways is at the start of the year a nightmare for Christine  I'm glad I don't have her job

its sorted now so lets all move on and enjoy the years racing ahead of us good luck to all for 2011 :luck:

Ok so the dates sortedbut as Linda has posted again today. Without seeming to be rude Linda there was no way in the conversation we had on Sunday did you apologize about the change of date, the only apology was the one that you wanted from me to retract the statment i made about being used and i woud'nt. You did know Notts + Derby was on the 14th as Cris Cornish asked Lynda nearly 2 WEEKS ago if we would change our date as you had emailed her to ask if the Fed could put an open on that date, she told you then that was our open date. The last words you said to me were if the Fed didnt put an open on that date Old Hall will. I have since had a phone call from a committee member of Old Hall saying they have no intension of puting an open on. People who realy know me would know if you had apologized about the mix up in dates i would have accepted it. Please dont try and make me look like the bad one in all this. Les.
