Are you talking fabric or light metal. If fabric just be sure that your dogs aren't the type to try to get out by chewing or scratching through. Savannah and Drama do great in the cheapest of lightweight fabric crates - it would never occur to them to try and get out. Teya and Chelsea on the other hand are always in a wire crate. Teya 'can' be trusted in fabric if there's another dog in with her, but not on her own.

Most varieties of soft crate are good - just depends on what kind of money you want to spend and how much time you want to spend building them. I love my Notz soft crates though they are still a bit heavy. They have a metal frame inside that you just slot together. I think Croft sells a variation on these. Dog Health (I think it's www.doghealth.co.uk) sells another type where you need to slot in two poles. There are others that just zip up at the ends. I've tried all 3 and all are good.

If you're talking about lightweight metal, then Dog Health has a few different styles - one being seriously heavy duty which I swear by for in the car - another being much cheaper and very lightweight (for a metal crate).

Hope this helps.

I got a decent fabric crate from pets at home, think it cost betweek £35 - 40. folds up nicely, has survived Kennett and a wash in the machine
