haycroft said:Its great to see sienna improving...hang in there lesley and never give up hope cos she'll be walking soon
yes it can be a shock for other people seeing her the way she is, but its lovely seeing her having love and cuddles :huggles:
when is she likely to come home or do the vet want her to get all the feeling back, cos im sure you cant wait to have her home :huggles:
my peg came home after 4 days but she could only barely stand with support and then she had 24 hr care and improved in leaps and bounds
please keep us updated
Thankyou everybody for all your well wishes :huggles:
I just never thought :clown: I should have realised that to see her looking so poorly would be a shock but to us she looks better and better each day so as she is now although heartbreaking is a wonderful improvement, and I wanted to share it with everyone who is spurring her on :huggles: I forget that people didnt see her as she was in the couple of days after the accident, they just know sienna as she was healthy and fit.
She will be in until at least Wednesday and depending on how she is the vet will let us know, he is happy for dogs to be at home with their owners he believes its good for them but she needs medical care because of the meds she has to have, she's been on a drip until day before yesterday, then all the meds to manage her pain which are getting less, he told us that the pain she would have had at first with that sort of injury is about as bad as it can get, and she was having methadone and diazapam every few hours which kept her pain free but very drowsy, they have cut down to a lower dose of morphine now and diazapam which stop her muscles in her neck from tensing, plus some other stuff which I can't remember  she also has to be turned every hour or so so her lungs don't clog up, she has physio twice a day.
I can write about it now she is getting better it was too hard before but when she went in she was a scale 4/5 worst, which was- could be permanent and at best likelyhood of needing an op
She is now a scale 3 which is still serious but more positive, nothing is garaunteed but the vet is very happy with her progress and says it will take a long time but he is confident of a good outcome for her
So she's come a really long way on those pics so feel happy not sad :huggles:
