Saturday Zana mis-judged a jump and took some skin of her leg,

its just under her hock on the inside. It's roughly the size and shape

of a penny, the skin was either taken off or shrunk back as its not

flapping or anything.

She cleaned it up and i wiped it with some antiseptic. It was weaping

a little yesterday around the edges but nice and clean.

This morning there was no weaping or anything so i didn't touch it. A

little while ago i decided to take her for an onlead walk to break the

the day up for her, as she has been indoors since she done it.

Some stupid woman had a yorkie on one of those bloody extenders

and let it charge at us, it wrapped the lead around Zana's legs and

made her fall over. Now she's bleeding again down one side of

the wound

Is it best left open or would you put a dressing or something on it.

I wouldn't have thought she needed vet treatment, but will take

her if it doesn't look right.

I'd just clean it up again with some warm salt water and leave it open for now. It's not on a joint so should heal up ok without dressing.

Do you have any antiseptic cream or blue spray? I always find blue spray the best thing, although it does make a mess but stops any nasties getting a hold in the wound

I agree with Jane, although I'd do more with a full skin thickness wound. Gruesome, but it might be easier to offer advice if we could see a pic :(

Feel better Zana :luck:

She's laying in the crate at the moment with Sada in front of her.

When one or both move i'll get a picture.

id leave it to dry out Ann, sometimes a gressing can make it worse ;)

Eskil manages to scrape skin off his hocks and front paws quite often when running, I just clean it with water and soon it's as good as new. hope Zana gets better soon :luck:

as for those extended leads  can't stand them
