aaahhhhh sorry Ian for your loss :( my heart goes out to you, and from the photo, looks like frankie is going to miss a soul mate

you are in my thought , shazxxx

Hi Ian, you very welcome, CD with more should be around soon.

The " I spy" picture is not a "lot of Dot" physically but it's a "lot of Dot" as I remember her.

I dont know who adopted who but I'm feeling so darn guilty I left, and she couldnt come with me (Wish I could have abducted her to Sydney with me). I've missed her a lot since I've been gone, and always will.

Maybe she wasnt the prettiest whippet out there, she wasnt the fastest and she sure wasnt the most elegant one in the years I've known her (she could put a elephant to shame when stomping in annoyance up the stairs) but she sure as hell had the most character, loving and hoity toity face I've ever seen on a dog.

Dottie was the 6th dog that was was mine (well adopted sort of, you know what I mean Ian) and no one was as loving and cuddly as she was. She didnt like sharing, specially not the bed! And the way she could put that arrogant look on her face, puff up her cheeks and look at you as if you had just crawled out of a sewer is totally unforgettable and still makes me smile from ear to ear.

I've never liked Whippets or Greyhound *ducks in case someone starts throwing stuff at me* but Ian's dogs have changed that. Dottie especially has made me feel that a man who has not met, battled and conquered the love of a whippet, is a man who has not lived or loved.

She was definitely 'Slightly Dottie' but then so am I (w00t) maybe thats why we where such good friends.

So next year I will start looking for a whippet breeder here in the Sydney area who is reputable and hopefully I shall be able to find a whippet who will love me, and make me smile as much as Dottie did.

I wanted to say all this earlier but was worried and still am that I will set Ian off bawling again. Ian sorry if you need another roll of loo paper :huggles:

Had a cup of tea from one of our "Dottie" mugs yesterday. Now I know its Dottie I'll think of her every time :))

Oooh you had one? The year before that Hattie was on it - but I had the artist change her markings a tad, so as not to draw any comments :- "

We've got 3 Dotties and 3 Hatties. :D

This is them, right ? You've no idea how tricky it is too scan a mug :sweating:

So sad to hear you have lost Dottie - she reached a good age though, and for that you can be thankful.

RIP Dottie

Thanks for all your kind comments :huggles:

Yes Judy - that's em all right ... the lady who painted those works from photos, and the only usable ones I had were naturally enough of my own dogs. Dottie is virtually exact, but Hattie had dark facial markings added to try to avoid any accusations of nepotism
