Does anyone know if greyhounds like snuggle beds? Marlene is such a bed bug and with the nights getting cooler, I wonder is she would use a snuggle bed. She currently sleeps in the largest size plastic bed (40inches) with a single duvet 13.5tog folded in half. Last winter she has a down duvet underneath. She sometimes burrows her nose in the duvet but has never tried to pull it over herself. If they are good for greyhounds what size do you suggest.

Have enclosed a picture of them in bed, please excuse the washing!

See if she likes the duvet over her first before you buy one!! Mine like being under the duvet - folded in half and them sandwiched in the middle - but not together cos Tiny couldn't cope with that.

Tiny especially likes to be wrapped up, although he always wriggles out eventually and comes to bed with me. I don't think mine would like a snuggle bed as such, they like their duvets too much! :huggles:

I must admit, its something I've been wondering about myself - we got our greyhound in May so haven't had a winter with him yet. He currently sleeps in the kitchen - we had a quilt folded in half but its quite thin, so we got a large dog bed to put on top of it its just like a giant cushion type thing.

We have no heating in our house other than a stove in the living room, and am worried in case the kitchen gets a little cold at night. We have a portable oil-filled radiator we can run in there if the heat isn't circulating from the stove well enough, but am worried about him knocking it over.

If they did greyhound sized snuggle beds and he'd use it that would be good, but he seems to end up in all kinds of positions when asleep, so am not sure he would use it!

I have 4 greys at home & have wondered this myself as the snuggle beds look so cosy & warm but to be honest i think mine would just lay on top of them....

Thanks for the replies. Over the weekend I think I will tack the sides of her duvet and see if she will go inside, but may have to wait until its a bit colder. Also will have to wait until the little madam gets out of bed! I will let you know how I get on.

Julieleigh - you are lucky - 4 greys is my idea of heaven

my partner used to work for a racing greyhound kennels,in the winter the dogs had no heating etc, they all coped fine, our girl sleeps in the kitchen on the tiled floor, she has a feather and down duvet in her bed but rarely uses it,they are hardier than we think.
