I don't think I've had any spectacular food thieving events since I've been posting on K9, so this pathetic attempt will have to do. I normally keep a few stale crusts by the back door to entice reluctant chickens back into their runs, normally too dry and nasty to be interesting when there's a bowl of cat food within reach, but today we were so famished we couldn't resist. I love the way he holds the bread in his front paws and nibbles it like a hamster, didn't quite catch it here.

The toe is looking worse today; the swelling did go down yesterday and it went back to it's usual position, but it's 'out' again today so another trip to our favourite place, the vets, again tomorrow. (He's not finding it disabling when it comes to jumping up on cupboards though)

That reminds me, better check he didn't do the cat's dish first

That toe looks nasty..........He's going to be out of action for a while :(

Poor Gelert- reduced to stealling stale bread :(

His toe does look nasty- his harem send him lots and lots of whippety kisses :* :* :* :* :* :* :* :* :* :* :* Tess says she'll come and lick it better

stale bread on a cold floor. (w00t)

Poor Gelert :( /

Now if that isnt for attention and sympathy I dont know what is. :huggles:

Oh well, it's not too bad, no dislocation no breakage but the ligaments are bruised/inflamed (which is pushing the toe out) so she recommended massage to loosen then strapping. Apparently ligaments have little feeling in them, which is why he's been running around and not limping.

She also confirmed that he probably does have male 'seasons', as his randiness is very limited to fairly short periods in Spring and Autumn and that it certainly affects behaviour (and can make his prostate overactive).

Amazing what you learn when you get up early.

Aww Gelert - is mammy only feeding you dry bread now (w00t)

:huggles: some extra ones for you :huggles:

I'll never live this down will I :b  He gets lots of food, 2 big bowls (plus an extra one for supper if he's training) plus some of what we have for dinner, and little treats throughout the day - you'd never know from those ribs would you. WHERE DOES HE PUT IT?
