My male Greyhound has spent 2 whole days & nights out of his crate :D he has been here since last November & has been so naughty untill now , when he was left out of it if my back was turned he would be in the kitchen tops trying to steal things , anything edible

But i forgot to pop him in the crate when i went to bed on Tuesday night & he was still asleep on the bed in the kitchen on Wednesday morning , i also went to the shops yesterday & he was so good , didnt touch a thing,

so hopefully he is now trustworthy enough to leave out of it while i am busy or out , we will see

Its lovely when they have got the idea and can just chill , fingers crossed he keeps his paws to himself from now on LOL

I have noticed he has stopped licking since he has been out the crate , such a stressy dog & i am wondering if crating him was making the stress levels higher , time will tell i reccon but so far he has been very well beahved :)

My whippet has just turned 2, and he is exactly the same. He was very naughty as a youngster, he would eat or chew anything, especially pens! I decided to trust him when I went to the shops one day, and he was good as gold - he stays out all the time now with the run of the house. He can't resist the odd pen sometimes though :D

Must be a sight hound thing both my dogs steal things , the bitch especially, i have had to stop her killing my slipper this morning  , she shook it to within an inch of its life , its all soggy & limp now

:D brill news kay!!! bet you loved putting that slipper on :D

It is great when you can leave them with the run of the house and know they will be ok.

My William is better when he is loose in the house unforyunately he tends to cock his leg on things that it is not advisable to wee on  Button even after 2 years can not be trusted as she chews everything. The only way I can leave her out at night is if she is muzzled.

What worrys me is both dogs will pick things up & chew them silly things like clothing pegs off the floor in the garden if i have missed one when i chuck the pegs back in the basket

Or the tops off the milk bottles out of the recycle box , i have to watch both dogs , i was very nearly minus a loaf off the top , i didt realise how far the male can reach on the work top

Over all he is so much better & its making me tidy up more which cant be a bad thing

never had a problem with any of the greyhounds steeling or chewing but whippets live up to there name lol
