Came across a vets in Wigan, Richard Weston the principal vet there emailed me back today with regards to their hydrotherapy unit and water treadmill, by all accounts the hospital is the best equiped in the North West with state of the art equipment, as well as their treadmill they also offer full colour ultrasound scans, digital xrays and MRI scanning. He has over 25yrs experience and specialises in orthopaedics, has done lots of work with Westhoughton track so is experienced with running dogs too, which is always good to know if any of us find ourselves in need of a vets close to the track.

For the use of their hydro treadmill the price is usually £10 for ten minutes (which i think is quite reasonable) but he's offered to do a club price for A & T if we take a few dogs at a time  He's offered us a full tour of the hospital and is very keen to answer any questions, so me and Jac are off to check it out next week.

Anyway here's the website,

I would use him for the hydro - but would never use him as a vet,

sorry but hes a waste of space, have had dealings with him before and know quite a few people who have,

and would never use him again, hes more intrested in the money - than the animal.

Eeeek cheers for that, was wondering if anyone had used him. As i said above his prices for the hydro sounded pretty reasonable, what he's like as a vet though i don't know.

if its for emergencys that you need a closer vets to the track - then only vets i would use around hear is vetcare which is my vets, always been a good vets and do care for the animal, there very much in the sense the animal comes first no matter what, http://www.vetcare.org/ ,

the other one i would use is Holly house, but if there closed then there emergency vet is in manchester, where as vetcare runs there own emergengy clinic in leigh, both these vets are in hindley, so are closer to the track,

both are good vets.

Hope This Year we WONT NEED ONE --OR MORE--
