Todays winners were Weardale Spot supreme, dogs Southern spark, vets Colardo,Yearlings Fat boy Slim, Pups Kentucy .Scratch Bagheera, Whats it all about. There was some good racing today. Thankyou for a lovely day,and to all the workers, also to Jan Keeble for putting on lovely trophies. :)

Arrived home about an hour ago, grand total of 3 hours and 15 mins driving time with the trailer on the back

Where do I start ? On arrival on Thursday evening we were greeted with "Real Yorkshire" Ham Sarnies and Cups of tea from Doreen Hopkins. The chip shop just over the park provided a reasonably priced Sausage and Chip supper, thanks go to Rita for the loan of the phone charger. Friday daytime weather was not too bad, however it bucketed down on Friday evening and most camping arrivals were stuck setting up in the pouring rain.

Saturday arrived and a professional approach from the Thurrock team, enjoyable races and some cracking finals (thanks Rob Poole for your comments about Moany Moany in the results), a good dowsing of rain on Saturday night made was for Sunday. Dissapointingly a low turnout for the day, after all the effort that the organisers went to but as has been said previously the races were quality none the less. The trophies on offer were absolutely brilliant, all adult class winners took home a trophy. Dog and Bitch Supreme winners in all categories, adults, pups, yearlings, veterans as well as trophies for all scratch classes. On top of that overall supremes/dog and bitch supremes took home beautiful annual silver cups and last but not least the MASSIVE gold cup for adult overall winner. The consolation trophies looked beautiful also, it was just a shame that they were not run for on this occasion.

Nice to meet Paul's wife and little daughter who was a real character (though Paul you need a kick up the bum for not introducing your wife hence I am afraid I do not know her name :- " ). Also good to see you minus bicycle on the Saturday evening (I was beginning to think you were surgically attached).

A lovely evening was spent unwinding with Trevor Smith, wife and the junior Smiths. Steve Williams, Angie and their daughter, Bill and Doreen "tea lady" Hopkins (not forgetting their little black pup Chalky  ) and finally Colin, wife and Mr Shoesmith Jnr who was a great help in putting the trailer tent down this morning. I hope we all meet again soon. Also thanks Steve for taking a look at Blaze's burst toe  .

Thankyou for a lovely weekend, we would definately make the trip back down again for your pleasant company.

Hi Fleesh, I'm pleased that you had a good journey home.

Your right, it was great to sit down and have a good old chin wag after a week-ends

racing. There was a lot of information passed around about different venues, and how different clubs organise the racing for their club members. You also have a good eye concerning how people react when they have a dog in the race, you had us all in stitches laughing, we all change personality when our dogs are in a race.

Hope to see you again soon, good luck with your racing

Doreen ( the tea lady )

Got back from Thurrock today about 10.45, had a brilliant week-end.

The weather was perfect and the company great. There were some fantastic

races with realy close finishes, I'm glad I didn't have to judge some of them.

Well done Linda for judging on both days, Bill and I enjoyed your company.

The rest of the group who were camped along side us were brilliant too.

It was the first time I had actually got to have a conversation with Judith

and her daughter, she has a wicked sense of humour, and is a wicked mover on the dance floor.

The only thing missing was Sheila, to my mind Sheila and Arthur are

Thurrock WRC, so they were sadly missed, although Arthur did run

Eversley Lad.

I feel I must mention Sarah Smith, she worked like a trojan, keeping everyone supplied with refreshments, and she has young children with her too.

Hope to see you at Fordingbridge

Well done to Thurrock WRC for staging a great week-end

best wishes

Doreen

well done thurock club great weekend well run open. SUPER TROPHIES!!!! FROM DARLO & MICKY THE DANCING KING ps he slept all way home and he went school today see you at devon!!! :)) :)) :))

Thanks for all the lovely comments Thurrock Racing Club are receiving its much appreciated.

We would like to thank all our workers - especialy Linda Windall and Andrew Pocket who are not members. (big thanks).

Thanks to everyone who travelled the distance hope the journey home was not to bad.

Well done all the winners especially Chris with WEARDALE SPOT.

Jimmy & Lorraine

I think poor Mum is all danced out, fast asleep on the sofa with her feet up.

The car and trailer tent are still coupled together in the back garden, drawn just clear of the gates, I think they'll stay like that until I get the Punto out at half seven in the morning to take Blaze to see the vet.

We had a great weekend in Thurrock. The workers did a fantastic job both days as well as all the preparation work for the weekend and there was plenty of good racing. Well done to all the winners and the workers. It is just a shame Sheila couldn't be there but it was good to see Arthur running Eversley Lad.
