WELL DONE FIONA & PEPPA
Congrats to all in the crads.
I fully agree with your comment. The dogs did run around as a group first which is not adequate as some go slower and hold up other dogs etc. They need to be seen going around on there own from profle. I have noy seen anyone else judge without seeing the individuals profileWell done all placed,
But what a shame the judge didnt make full use of the super sized ring. twice up and down shows no profile movement at all .
twice up and down shows no profile movement at all .
twice up and down shows no profile movement at all .
True. But it does give the judge a good look at the rear end & boobs of the handler.
If its not to standard the judge will say something like; "just a short way out & back" or " thats far enough".
My thoughts exactly, how often is the bottom part of the triangle enough to get side profile anyway. If the mats werent wide enough or slippy I doubt wether any of us would have been able to go around the ring without slipping or falling , None of us did . and Im not sure any mats at any shows are wider than what we had at South Yorkshire.
the judge , however , could have stood to one side and watched profile movement on the 2nd `up and down`
If fact these same mats will be used next month for the Whippet Stars
I wasnt getting at the matts i was pointing out how slippy the wooden floor is. Fair enough your point is right about the profile movement but im just saying that maybe the fact she didnt want to make them move around the ring too much was due to the flooring. How often do you see dogs come flying into rooms with laminate/wooden/varnished flooring and slide everywhere. I see it alot at my house because my whole house is wood flooring except the stairs. If the mats werent wide enough or slippy I doubt wether any of us would have been able to go around the ring without slipping or falling , None of us did . and Im not sure any mats at any shows are wider than what we had at South Yorkshire.

Thing is with humans we tend to wear footwear that we can actually run in.. dogs don't wear shoes and their pads don't tend to stop them falling on their bums.
Whippet stars is usually on green carpet which covers the whole floor but if the matts are going down im gonna make sure Peppa stays on the matts and i run on the floor.
I do agree entirely though that the judge could have stood to the side after the first 'up and down'.
But what do i know hey? Im a kid -_-
