Well.. we put our caravan to the test by going camping in southport! We went from friday to monday. It was the first time the dogs had ever been caravaning but as soon as they got in charge of the sofa's they were fine! We went to the beach on saturday and sunday and they loved it! They ran straight into the sea with no bother at all. When we were in the car ready to get back to the caravan Phoebe started crying because she didn't want to leave, bless her. Well we have booked it again for the summer hols. When it isn't as windy and muddy! :lol:

jade if you go a few miles down the coast you can take the dogs to either ainsdale beach where you can drive your car onto the beach and dogs are allowed all along the stretch there or go to the formby nature reserve where theres loads of wooded areas with lots of squirrels too! :- "

Looks fab, we are thinking of going to Formby/ Southport over the next bank hol weekend!!

Can you recommend a site, we have a small campervan? As you say hopefully better weather..... :- "

We actually did go to Ainsdale beach but i was thinking of those people who don't know where it is :- " We went down the beach but the forest sounds good! They would love to chase squillrells :lol:

Ann we actually stayed at Abbey Farm Caravan Park. Its not next to the beach but a few miles away. It dosen't take long about 15-20 minutes.

Abbey farm caravan park was great, very recommended! I saw a few campavans so im sure they allow them

There is also a few more Caravan parks which i saw but i have no idea what there like but heres a few

- Shaw Hall Caravan Park

- If you part of the caravan club there is Southport Caravan Club

went to ainsdale beach in feb jade but it will be 2 yrs since we went to formby and that was in the summer
