For ages, I've been frustrated that I couldn't find a spillproof travel bowl (like the Road Refresher) in stainless steel. I prefer not to use plastic. I know others say the same, although I can't remember if I've had this particular discussion here.

Anyway, if anyone else does feel the same, lookie here - I found one!

I was puzzled at first as to how the dog would get at the water under the concave plate - then realised that the plate floated. That's very satisfyingly ingenious!

I do wonder if it would work so well for larger dogs with a tongue the size of a ladle - could it be a bit too shallow for them?

I've seen big dogs use them. Enough water seems to get through, it does slow them a bit but I don't think it's intended for quenching a big thirst after a long walk or lots of exercise; it's more for drinking while actually on the move - we have used the plastic version for years and the design works well for us. The saucer section can be removed to make it into a normal bowl when you stop.

I'm just so pleased to find a stainless steel version!
