I nearly had a nervous breakdown in the supreme final with Edee, everything was going wrong :sweating: with a 5 dog supreme it did make me a bit nervous with the bigger dogs going in to her  but bless her she ran her little heart out

Hi all

I've just written an article for Nov Whippet News on this open. I too would like to thank all those who helped on and before the day. Although I was there I find it difficult to follow people's comments here when they use the 'pet names' of the runners! - I think it must be something to do with my age!

I am heart broken that my poor state of health (I have a cold) resulted in very little sympathy from those who I spoke to while checking passports. :x Any owner who now catches the said illness will now get very little sympathy from me. Looking forward to see you all again at the Champs.

Sounds like you had a great time. I must admit I always like the Stanborough opens. Well done all the finalists and winners. Has anybody got the results?

WELL DONE to all the finalists at Stanborough,a lovely day and a well run meeting.

There was some good races throughout the day.Well done to Rolo(deadly Spirit), Archie(Ment2be)for winning the main finals in thier weight groups, and to Archies little sis,Edee(Baby Love)for winning the consolation light weight group. Also to Rob Sweets Bunny Girl on winning the Veteran Supreme ,and Baby Love the Consolation Supreme. We decided to let Summa Breeze run in the Supreme main for the first time, unfortunatly the rest didn't think it such a good idea so poor little Sash had to run alone :( , still she enjoyed herself and won a lovely jacket to match the one gran(Final Harmony) won at Stanborough 2000.

 Well done to all the finalists and the supreme winners sounds like i missed a good days racing :(

VC Minnie Mouse had a great day's racing yesterday at Stanborough, truly enjoying her last ever Open Race in the Veteran Supreme Final with other true veteran oldies Satin Spirit and litter brother Bullet Bunny. She was very proud to bow out in style with a Blueberry Velvet Coat, which she has worn around the house to show off! Minnie now officially retires from open circuit racing, and wishes all her fellow whippets as much fun as she has had. She will miss them all in what feels like the end of an era. We are so pleased for her to retire while she is fit and well. Thanks to the Stanborough Club and all racers who helped to see Minnie Mouse off in style yesterday. It has been an amazing 9 years of racing. Minnie and Fozzy now become chief cheerleaders for the family - watch out for the pom poms! Lucy xx
