This has been such a terrible shock and I dont think WSWRC will ever be the same without him; he was the first to make folks welcome, always a kind word , a big smile and an abundance of jokes. Steve was genuinely lovely chap, I feel honoured to have known him and we will miss him enormously.
On Sunday he was on 'top form' cracking jokes and we all enjoyed a relaxed days racing in the sun. We've been robbed of of a great asset and true sports man.
I think Margaret will be pleased to know he was so well liked amongst his peers, she has had a huge amount of support from whippeteers and Steve's fellow Councillors. He was held in high regard by many, including us. I'll pass everyone's kind comments on to her.
RIP Steve.
