I will try to get Club to e.mail the details of the show to as many people as posible.

Maybe a car pool from Victoria could make it for the day. Will also check for other shows that week end, I think the Hound club is same grounds & day??????

Ohh!!! the thought of some Vics doing a car pool. :( What have they in common? :clown:

Don't want to panic you  Lana, but there is another really important issue to be taken into concideration (before you enter the ring)..............

.......

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO WEAR (w00t)     :teehee:

Make sure you wear COMFORTABLE SHOES!!!!!! You do alot more standing & walking.

One of my normal dog showing suits (with trousers - not a skirt) I very rarely wear skirts and certainly not in the show ring in any capacity.  Learned that lesson long ago.

Maybe Lana you should look up the dress ethics for those of the opposite sex that can judge dogs. (as set out from the by-laws of the SACA). The part in question is the wearing of "mans pants". It clearly states; scarf, face paint, low cut top, BUT no mans pants.

Hope this clears up what to wear. 8)

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? I might just take up judging so I can where the man pants!! What a classic!! What constitutes man pants anyway???

low cut top,
(w00t)
I tried that once as an exhibitor - I was told it would work wonders on that particular occasion - but it didn't bring me any luck - a younger, prettier, SLIMMER, female exhibitor (and wearing man pants no less) won BOB.

Hmmmm have I missed it or do we still not know the date? I had a feeling that the show is usually in early March?

Lisa,

the date is 25 March, the same day as the Hound Club Champ Show - Judge: Ms L Stalhandske, Whippet & Greyhound Show will probably be starting early (8.30am) as not to clash. Two shows for the "Hound Lovers". I can give exact details tomorrow after meeting tonight. The schedule should be on the website soon. whippetgreyhound club of sa

Lisa,

I, too, have known about your appointment for some time now & I wish you lots of good luck & success for the day. I have judged horses for 40 years & can tell you you need a thick skin, deaf ears & absolute confidence in yourself & your placements so you can explain your reasons for doing so if you are asked. Judge the dog, not the handler, stick to your guns & never apologise for sending out of the ring the latest fancy import or a grand champion. Remember, people have paid for your opinion so, give it to 'em girl! Enjoy!

Uhh Ohh ... I'm meant to be at a professional development day in Melbourne on the Monday ... I wonder if I can drive back to Bendigo and still be in Melbourne by 9am? I have been known to drive to Adelaide and back in one day, but that was when I was young and stupid ... so I guess not much has changed!!!

But seriously, if I don't enter ... that's the reason why!

i agree!, no excuses, cum on all you interstaters, two shows on the same day at the same time. oh! by the way if you have more than one hound breed I have been informed that the two rings will work together to aviod any clashings of judging.

It would be great to see more Greyhounds entered, there are very few in SA, good news is a new baby is arriving tomorrow from Interstate (no not mine),can't wait to see her.
