Sticky Kong!...

Roxy's had her Kong for about 2 or 3 years now and recently I've noticed it's going sticky, like when I try to dry it with kitchen roll it doesn't work because it just sticks to it, mainly by the opening. It's a normal red classic Kong which I got from the pet shop, the other ones haven't done this...yet at least.
I wonder if it has anything to do with putting it in the freezer? As I've noticed that the opening has gotten bigger and bigger too, because of putting in the freezer maybe? Like it's starting to disintegrate.
Anyone else had this with their kongs?

Yes, mine have done that. I wondered if it was from going in the dishwasher - I hadn't thought of the freezer.

Aaah it's not just me then!
Well I think you can rule that out because I've never put Roxy's in the dishwasher.

Plastic can degrade over time and go sticky. I've thrown out quite a few plastic food containers that have done this.

Personally I would not use them once this happens - you don't know what is leaching into the contents

Good point, They're made of rubber which is probably even worse!
I'll throw it away I think.
