My Kennels where broken into last night, substantial damage was done to the kennels and according to the police the theifs came well equiped for the job. Two whippet bitch's where stolen and 8 other dogs where let loose, we have now rounded them up and they are safe but traumatised. One of the Bedlingtons was found many miles away and was brought back by a member of the public.

The two bitch's are a Brindle and white bitch who is having ongoing treatment for lameness and the other is a very pretty fawn bitch both are microchipped.

Our kennels are in Modbury, South Devon. I doubt i will see these two bitch's again but im asking evreyone to keep there eyes open for them and just beware there are proffessional dog theifs in the area.

I will post some photo's up here later.

We don't live fare from you and go to a few dog show` So will keep a eye out for you` Let hope you find them soon. Atb

I've posted this on my facebook profile.

Are they on Dog Lost, Bernadette?

I hope you get them back :luck: Will watch for them at Ilsington tomorrow.

I have cross posted this to TWF, Hunting Life, The Poacher and various facebook pages to do with whippets :luck:

Ive just come in from doing the kennels and its sickening, they used bolt cutters to break the padlocks and to break the weldmesh, ive rung all the local dogs homes and given them there details but these guys where professionals and i expect the dogs are long gone now. One of the bedlingtons was found a few miles away and he dident look like he's been on a long walk.

Any pictures? they always help

Hope they are safe soon

What scum !!

I hope you get your dogs back soon.... :luck: :luck: :luck:

Heres hoping that they are returned safe and soon.

So sorry to hear about more whippys being stolen.

That is horrendous news, really hoping your two whippets will be found and returned back to you - this must be devasting for you. Thinking of you :luck: :luck:

What an awful thing to happen. You must be besides yourself with worry for these two girls.

I'm in North Devon, so will keep eyes and ears open here for you.

Everything crossed that they are located quickly.

Terry.

how awful. it might be worth keeping an eye out on epupz and all those sites for adult whippets for sale, when were they due in season? you might find them via puppy sales if worst comes to worst :( keeping my fingers crossed you manage to find them soon :luck:

Ive just looked there is an 18 month old in northampton im wondering if its her

Disgusting people.

Pets4homes, Preloved and Epupz are worth watching. The first one is the easiest for s..m to advertise on as it seems to require very little personal information.

I am not in an area where I can be of any help to you but if you post details and pictures (ages, any distinguishing features, do they have dewclaws etc) I will keep an eye out on the internet. The only problem is that the theives may read K9 too. Perhaps that is a good thing, it may make them realise that they might get caught with so many people on the lookout.

I know that words are no consolation right now, but lots of people are thinking about you and your whippies and wishing you :luck: :luck:

This must be so upsetting for you. In view of your description of the incident, do you think they were stolen to order ?

Yes i think they where stolen to order, the brindle and white is having on going treatment for a damaged back foot it will never get better and she will always be lame. As for the Fawn bitch well she's an old fashioned Barnesmore whippet and she is actualy not my type of whippet but she's a very nice specimen of a show bred whippet she was in season when she was took.

Can anyone go and investigate this 18 month old whippet on epupz you will know its her shes very pretty, my son is up the kennels tonight with a surprise for any returning dog theif.

Im on nights tonight so if anyone wants to contact me my number is 07968 114263

Whatever the circumstances I just hope these two girls are safe and warm somewhere.

I am very sorry to hear about your stolen whippets. They are some b******s in this world.

I live in Northamptonshire, and would be happy to help if necessary. Do you have any photos that you can put on this forum?
