My dog was chasing a ball on Sunday and suddenly pulled up and would not put his back right leg down. I took him to the vet on Monday and he said it is either a strained knee or his cruciate ligament he sent us home with anti inflammatory tablets and said it is vital that we rest it and go back in 2 weeks. Is there anything I can do to help him heal ?

If he has to rest and get no physical exercise, you might need to tire him mentally to help him settle. So things like scenting or tricks like barking on cue (and push that up to counting by barking once, twice, three barks and so on). Look on YouTube at Kikopup for ideas. For toilet breaks, if you have someone to help, you can sling a towel or piece of material under his belly, held by one person on each side, to support his weight while he goes out.
